Ingredients
  

Blackberries

  • 1.5 cups fresh or frozen blackberries

Dry ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 teaspoons baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt

Wet ingredients

  • 0.5 cups unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest

Additional wet ingredients

  • 0.5 cups sour cream or Greek yogurt
  • 0.5 cups milk

Glaze

  • 0.5 cups powdered sugar
  • 1-2 tablespoons lemon juice or milk

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch pan.
  • Mix dry ingredients: whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt.
  • Cream butter and sugar, add eggs, vanilla, and lemon zest.
  • Alternate adding sour cream, dry ingredients, and milk; fold in blackberries.
  • Pour batter into pan, bake 35–40 minutes. Cool and drizzle with glaze.

Notes

Be gentle when folding in blackberries to avoid crushing them.
