Best Taco Meat Recipe

Ingredients
  

Meat & Spices

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 0.5 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 cup chicken broth or bone broth

Instructions
 

  • Add salt to both sides of the ground beef. If using a block, cut it in half and salt both sides of each half.
  • Heat a large skillet to medium-high heat. Cook the ground beef for 2 minutes on each side, then break it up and cook until browned.
  • Add all spices and stir to combine. Cook for 1 minute to allow the flavors to meld.
  • Add the broth, reduce heat to low, and simmer for 4-5 minutes until the liquid is almost gone.
  • Turn off the heat and serve the taco meat warm.

Notes

For a healthier option, use lean ground beef and drain excess fat before adding spices.
