Ingredients
  

  • 0.75 cup salted butter room temperature
  • 1.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 1.5 cup mashed bananas
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.75 teaspoon table salt
  • 0.5 cup sour cream

Instructions
 

  • Pre-heat oven to 325°F and prepare two bread pans by buttering and flouring them.
  • Cream together butter and sugar until smooth. Mix mashed bananas, eggs, and vanilla in a separate bowl.
  • Combine the banana mixture with the creamed butter and sugar. Sift together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Add dry ingredients and sour cream to the wet mixture, alternating until well combined.
  • Pour batter equally into prepared pans and bake for 50-60 minutes, until a toothpick comes out dry.
  • Let cool in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For the best flavor, use overripe bananas and don't overmix the batter.
