Instructions
Whisk milk, sugar, and cornstarch in a saucepan until smooth, then cook until thickened.
Remove from heat, stir in vanilla, and let cool slightly.
Layer banana slices in serving cups, pour custard over, and smooth the top.
Melt butter and toast shredded phyllo until golden, then cool slightly.
Sprinkle toasted phyllo over the custard and chill for at least 20 minutes before serving.
