Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon fine sea salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 2 sticks unsalted butter at cool room temperature (67°F)
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 1.25 cups lightly packed light brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 2 large eggs at room temperature
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350ºF. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Combine flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl.
  • Beat butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until creamy. Add vanilla and eggs, then gradually mix in flour mixture. Stir in chocolate chips.
  • Chill dough for 24-72 hours. Scoop into 3-tablespoon balls and bake for 11-13 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • Cool cookies on baking sheets for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

For thicker, chewier cookies, chill the dough for at least 24 hours before baking.
