Ingredients
  

Apples

  • 2 medium baking apples peeled and chopped

Dry Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon heaping spoonfuls
  • 1 tsp ground ginger

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 large egg room temperature
  • 1/3 cup white granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup full-fat sour cream room temperature
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

Other

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 cup powdered sugar sifted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 tbsp milk

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan and set aside.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, ginger, baking soda, and salt.
  • Add chopped apples, egg, granulated sugar, oil, sour cream, and vanilla extract. Mix until just combined.
  • Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  • Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Let the bread cool completely before glazing with the powdered sugar glaze for the best results.
