Ingredients
  

Dough

  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk (about 110°F/43°C)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted (plus more for brushing)
  • 1 large egg egg
  • 1 tsp salt

Additional

  • Nonstick cooking spray or extra flour, for dusting

Instructions
 

  • Combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast; let sit 5 minutes until foamy.
  • Add melted butter, egg, and salt; mix well.
  • Gradually add flour; knead until smooth, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Divide dough into 12 balls; place in greased dish, cover, and let rise 20 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C); bake rolls 18-20 minutes until golden. Brush with melted butter before serving.

Notes

For softer rolls, let them rise a bit longer before baking.
